Sclerotherapy is a highly effective treatment to get rid of thread veins (also known as spider veins) on the lower body.
After a full consultation, we deliver sclerotherapy at our clinic in Lancashire, near Wigan.
What is Sclerotherapy?
Sclerotherapy is a non-surgical medical treatment to eliminate thread veins on the lower body. It is a minimally invasive treatment delivered by injection, directly to the affected area.
We can treat thread veins on the legs which are up to 1mm in diameter. We do not treat varicose veins. If you are looking for treatment for thread veins on the face, we would use IPL.
If you are unsure whether sclerotherapy is the right option for you, get in touch to book a consultation.
How Does It Work?
We inject a solution called Fibrovein into the blood vessels. This causes inflammation and coagulation in the targeted area. Fibrovein occludes the veins in question, eventually obliterating them.
The aim of sclerosis is to cause endothelial damage, which goes on to trigger the body’s wound healing response, and causing it to lay down collagen fibre in the targeted area. This process results in the destruction of the thread vein(s).
What To Expect
Fibrovein is injected directly into the site. This minimally invasive procedure is very quick, and you can return to normal activities afterwards.
