Skin degrades as we age, and it’s not unusual to want to give it a boost as you get older. Here at our clinic in Lancashire, we offer a range of injectable skin boosting treatments to rejuvenate and revitalise your skin, turning back those years.

Hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring in the body and can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water, but we produce less as we age. This can cause our skin to sag and become ‘crepe-like’.

High quality skin boosters can replace lost hyaluronic acid, for healthy, hydrated, younger looking skin.

Profhilo

Sometimes referred to as ‘The Miracle Moisturiser’, Profhilo is one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market. This non-surgical skin remodelling treatment seamlessly blends and distributes itself evenly for beautiful results and is suitable for both men and women.

Profhilo can work to lock moisture into the skin, and also remodel aging and sagging tissue. It is suitable for areas that may have become lax.

Toskani TKN HA3

Biorevitalisation through hyaluronic acid injections is a fantastic way to prevent and correct a variety of skin concerns. 

Toskani TKN HA3 is a long lasting biorevitalizing mesotherapy, which fights the signs of ageing. This injectable high molecular weight formula contains non cross-linked (disperses underneath the skin) hyaluronic acid to stimulate fibroblasts. This then encourages collagen and elastin production.

Contraindications

Skin booster treatments may not be right for you if any of the following apply:

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have active acne near the area being treated
  • You have active cold sores
  • You have a skin infection at the site
  • You suffer from anaphylaxis

Please always speak to us during your consultation about any conditions you may have, so that we can help you to understand if the treatment is suitable for you.

If you have a bleeding disorder, or a compromised immune system, please consult your doctor before considering this type of treatment.

Before your treatment

If you are taking medications or supplements that thin your blood, you may not be able to have skin boosters. If it is safe for you to stop taking them, you should do so 2 weeks before your treatment to reduce the risk of bruising. Always speak to your doctor about prescribed medications.

Stop using any topical retinol creams 5 days before treatment, and don’t drink alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment. You should also try to avoid Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and aspirin for two days before treatment, if it’s safe to do so. Speak to your doctor if you are unsure.

After your treatment

After this kind of treatment, you should:

  • Avoid applying any make up for the rest of the day
  • Avoid exercise for the rest of the day
  • Avoid massages or facials for 2 weeks
  • Avoid active products (ie vitamin A or AHA/BHA’s) for 24 hours
  • Avoid fractional lasers as they target water in the skin, which could diminish the results of your treatment

For Best Results (How many treatments)

Depending on the type of treatment, and what you want to achieve, you may need 2-4 treatments, spaced 2-4 weeks apart. We will advise on the best treatment plan when you attend for your consultation.

Down Time

Depending on which treatment you choose, there is little to no downtime with our skin booster treatments. 

You may notice slight swelling and small lumps on the treated skin immediately after treatment. The lumps will subside within 48 hours, but they are usually gone within 24 hours.
